Executioner's arrest

Lucivaldo Lopes de Souza, suspected of shooting doctor Elyne, was arrested on Thursday night (5). A Civil Police operation located the man in a rural area of Epitaciolândia, a city neighboring the municipality where the crime occurred.

In testimony this Friday morning, Lucivaldo confessed to the crime and said he would receive R$10,000 to kill the doctor. Of this total, R$2,000 was delivered in advance and the other R$8,000 would be paid after execution. During the arrest of the suspect, the police managed to recover R$700 of this advance.

"In cash, he received R$2,000 in advance to carry out the execution. The other R$8,000 would be paid after his death. Of the R$2,000 he received, we managed to raise R$700, in seven R$100 bills. So, the payment of R$40,000 also involves other people who are being investigated", explained delegate Alex Dany.

In total, Francisco would have negotiated Elyne's death for R$40,000, according to investigations. According to the Civil Police, Lucivaldo stated during interrogation that he acted at the behest of Francisco Valadares Neto.

According to the delegate, the investigation has already identified other people who participated in the intermediation between the alleged principal and the executor. The police are still working to clarify how contact was made between them and the participation of each person involved.

"It's a crime of command. We have [Francisco] as the principal and Lucivaldo as the author of the execution. In this field, we are still gathering information and we have already identified some people, not just one, involved in this intermediation between the principal and the execution of the death", he explained.

Despite the confession, the Civil Police state that there are still stages of the investigation to be completed. The motivation for the murder has also not been clarified, as investigators have not yet been able to formally hear the prosecutor, who is still hospitalized in Rio Branco.

"We cannot answer the motivation, since it comes from the person who ordered her death, and we did not have the opportunity to question him because of the health situation he is in," said the delegate.

"During the execution of the search warrant, we collected evidence that will help us deepen the investigation. A letter was seized at Dr. Valadares' house, which also helped us advance the investigation into the crime of commando. We still have a lot of work to do and other developments should occur during the investigation," he stated.

Investigation

The Civil Police reported that they are working to identify everyone involved in the hiring and execution of the murder.

The prosecutor, who is also a lawyer and former councilor of Brasiléia, has an open arrest warrant, but remains hospitalized. According to the delegate, the police are monitoring the situation and awaiting conditions to comply with the court order.

''The motivation for the crime still requires clarification. We did not have access to all the procedures related to possible previous episodes of domestic violence involving the ex-couple, as part of the measures were requested directly from the Judiciary'', highlighted Alex.

The delegate also stated that investigators still need to complete the steps to clarify each person's participation and gather the necessary elements to finalize the investigation.

Protective measure

Francisco already has a history of convictions for domestic violence against the city's former mayor, Fernanda Hassem, with whom he had a relationship.

Witnesses who were at the same table as Elyne told the police that she had a protective measure against Francisco and that she had been reporting threatening situations. According to reports, he would have passed by the street where the bar is located several times on that occasion.

Elyne's body was laid to rest in Brasiléia. The doctor was buried last Wednesday (4), in the city's São João Batista Cemetery. To g1, a friend who asked not to be identified described Elyne as a person who won over everyone who interacted with her. She worked at the Brasiléia Regional Hospital and at the Dr. Ricardo Barbosa da Silva Basic Health Unit.

A specialist in family and community medicine, the doctor was admired not only for her professional competence, but also for the way she welcomed and treated patients, according to the friend.

He highlighted the doctor's cheerful personality. She went to the gym, liked to take care of her health and enjoy moments with people close to her.

At the doctor's burial, a procession marked the moment with tributes and emotions from family and friends. Elyne's doctor and ex-husband, Francisco Nogueira, spoke about the pain and anger over the loss and recalled that the doctor sought legal measures to protect herself.
