Family home father convicted of rape - gets six years in prison

The indictment against the family home father has concerned seven cases of aggravated rape against children and one case of sexual molestation. According to the prosecutor, the crimes were committed in the spring of 2026, in Norrköping and outside Helsingborg.

When the trial ended, the prosecutor asked for 12 years in prison for the suspect. On Monday, the verdict was handed down in the Norrköping district court, the man is sentenced to half the sentence that the prosecutor requested, just over 6 years in prison. The investigation has been extensive, as SVT previously reported.

- There are several interviews with plaintiffs, witnesses and a review of storage media as well as technical evidence in the form of surveillance cameras and audio files that led to the charges, says Chamber prosecutor Karin Evlinger.

The municipality registered themselves

The girl, who came from Sundsvall, was placed in a family home with the man. The prosecutor has claimed that she was in a dependent position and that the man took advantage of her vulnerable situation.

The assaults have been described as systematic, and the girl is said to have received alcohol on certain occasions in connection with the suspected rapes.

The girl raised the alarm herself to the social services in Sundsvall. The placement was later canceled after she documented a suspected rape. The municipality's handling has been reported to Ivo and is still being investigated. Nine days after the new placement, the girl took her own life.
