A series of bear attacks on people in Russia: victims, restrictions and an increase in the number of connecting rods

The bear attacked another resident. This time, the victim of the clubfoot was a 39-year-old man in the vicinity of the village of Potapovo, Krasnoyarsk Territory.

As reported by the regional investigative committee, forestry workers carried out sanitary cleaning of forest plantings at a site in Epishinsky forestry. In the morning, they had to drive the equipment to another site, deciding to leave their colleague to guard the equipment.

The man died from his injuries at the scene. The hunters later wounded the predator, but he was able to escape.

Other deaths from bear attacks in Russia

Earlier it became known about the death of two men who were attacked by a bear in the Kolpashevo district of the Tomsk region.

According to the Investigative Committee, the men were 44 and 46 years old. The youngest of them worked on a local farm, and on September 18 he went into the forest near the village of Sever to find a lost cow, but never returned.

The next day, a 46-year-old fellow villager went looking for him, but he also disappeared. Both men were later found in the forest without signs of life. The clubfoot who attacked them was neutralized.

Another bear broke a fence at night on the territory of Koryakenergo in Ust-Kamchatsk (Kamchatka Territory) and mortally wounded a watchman.

Another bear completely pulled a resident of the village of Verkhniy Kebezh in the Krasnoyarsk Territory out of the window of a house and tore it to pieces.

The victim's neighbor noted that the bear purposefully attacked the woman and did not pay attention to the pigs and cows that were kept on the territory. Later, the bear was found 200 meters south of the village. The aggressive clubfoot was eliminated.

Restrictions in regions due to bears

Frequent visits of predators to people have become the reason for the cancellation of events and the introduction of restrictions. For example, in the Irkutsk region, health days in nature were canceled, and a high alert regime was introduced due to the increasing number of cases of bears entering populated areas.

The administration of the Kamchatka Territory reminded that there is a curfew in the region. Children and teenagers are prohibited from being on the street without adults between 19:30 and 07:30.

Authorities in a number of Russian regions also called on people not to bring sweets to cemeteries due to the threat from bears that come to graves for sweets and other food.

Similar warnings affected residents of Buryatia, Langepas and Mezhdurechensk. And on Sakhalin they took measures in the form of shooting wild animals: two predators in Okha got into the habit of regularly walking among the graves.

Growing number of connecting rod bears

The number of connecting rod bears may increase this coming winter. This prospect was admitted by the director of the Altai Biosphere Reserve, Igor Kalmykov.

The reasons for this, according to the expert, will be systemic long-term problems in the hunting industry, as well as poor food supply. As Kalmykov is convinced, it is impossible to solve the problem without harvesting pine nuts and simplifying the procedure for forced shooting.
