Starting from the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala, this event connected folk performances, traditional lantern festivals and cultural museum experiences, giving citizens and tourists a holiday gift full of Guangfu style.

That night, a majestic guzheng ensemble "Autumn Moon over the Flat Lake" kicked off the event. From the catwalk performance that traveled through ancient and modern times to the poem recitation "Hua Di Traveling in Days", it showed a vivid picture of Liwan from "Millennium Flower Town" to "Modern Commercial Capital"; Xiguan Women's Chorus presented "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon" and dance "Chang'e Flying to the Moon" , full of the romance and poetry of Lingnan festivals; the Cantonese opera excerpt "Mounting Flowers" has a childlike and charming aria; "Greater Bay Area Boys" presented by Xiguan Street Dance Troupe cleverly combines the explosive power of street dance with the flexibility of Cantonese culture.

Li Shiying, a promoter of folk culture activities in Liwan, Guangzhou, told reporters that this folk show will closely integrate Liwan's folk culture with modern life. The performances are diverse, covering singing and dancing catwalks, musicals, choruses, street dances, and Cantonese opera excerpts, etc., covering audiences of all ages, and kicking off the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day double festival activities.

According to reports, the 2026 Guangzhou Cultural Park Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival will be held with citizens and tourists from September 25 to October 7. With the theme of "Millennium Commercial City·Cantonese Rhythm Liwan", this lantern festival will display 38 groups of large and medium-sized lanterns and atmospheric lanterns, cleverly integrating the history of the millennium commercial capital with the Lingnan style of Liwan. During the Lantern Festival, Guangzhou Cultural Park will also hold activities such as interesting lantern riddles, Guangfu lectures on ancient times, song and dance performances, chess competitions and other activities.
