Zakharova commented on Merz’s words about the transformation of Germany into the main military force in Europe

MOSCOW, September 30 - RIA Novosti. The German people have already paid a high price for the ideas of German superiority, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

“Just like 85 years ago, extremist, nationalist, Russophobic ideas are again coming to the fore... Doesn’t it seem to the Bundeschancellor that the German people, including his grandfather, paid too high a price for such ideas in the 20th century?” Zakharova said at a briefing, commenting on the words of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz about his intention to “again make Germany the main military force in Europe.”

This statement cannot be called anything other than forgetting the lessons of World War II, Zakharova emphasized.

“Again. I would like to ask: again, compared to what? What times is Merz based on? Again, this is the Third Reich? This is the Kaiser’s Germany?” the diplomat noted.

The Kiev regime, which raised the flag of collaborationism from the time of the Third Reich, is nurtured and encouraged in every possible way, Zakharova added. In the immediate vicinity of Babi Yar in Kyiv, a so-called pantheon is being created, where war criminals and Nazi collaborators are honored.
