The OSCE is interesting to Russia as a platform for discussing regional problems, despite the obvious ineffectiveness of the organization in resolving conflicts, Vladislav Maslennikov, director of the Department of European Problems of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Despite the obvious ineffectiveness of the Organization in resolving regional conflicts, it is still of interest as a specialized platform for discussions and search for solutions in this area,” Maslennikov said.

He emphasized that the organization’s adopted budget for this year fully meets the requirements of the Russian side.

“Therefore, we will continue to use the OSCE to consistently convey the Russian position to the other 56 participating countries in close cooperation with like-minded people from the CIS and CSTO states,” the diplomat concluded.
