The Launch of the Mapa-Buoy System and Bottom Mud Cleaning was Held in Fethiye

The "Mapa-Buoy System and Fethiye Bottom Mud Cleaning Launch" was held in Fethiye within the scope of the Zero Waste Blue Project, carried out under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, Chairperson of the United Nations Zero Waste High-Level Personalities Advisory Board and under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

The institution stated that within the scope of the project, a new order was created on the approximately 90-kilometer coastline, including Göcek and Dalaman bays, and that it is aimed to prevent the damage caused by uncontrolled boat moorings to the sea meadows.

926 FIXED BINDING EYE AND 906 VALVES WERE PLACED

Sharing the details of the Eye-Buoy System, the Authority reported that 926 fixed mooring eyes and 906 vaults were placed in the bays. The institution stated that the DERIA system, where processes from inspection to water cleaning will be monitored digitally, will also be put into operation. Stating that sailors can see the bays and empty mooring points on the map and make reservations via the mobile application, the Authority described the system as the "Google Maps of the sea".

"WE PROVIDED 400 MILLION EUROS OF EXTERNAL FINANCE FOR MARMARA"

The institution also announced that 400 million euros of external financing was provided from the World Bank for the transformation of wastewater treatment facilities within the scope of combating mucilage in the Sea of Marmara.

Stating that bottom mud cleaning continues in Izmit Bay and a 15-item Urgent and Short-Term Action Plan has been implemented for Izmir Bay, the Institution said; He said that environmental projects are continuing in Eğirdir, Beyşehir, Salda, Mogan and Meke.

The institution noted that the works in Fethiye Bay, the Mapa-Buoy System, the projects in Marmara, the Zero Waste and deposit system will be explained to the international public at the COP31 Summit to be held in Antalya on 9-20 November.
