Fraudsters actively use seasonality and the news agenda to create schemes to attack Russians.

People of any socio-demographic category can become victims of scammers.

An interview with the deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, Stanislav Kuznetsov, took place as part of the Eastern Economic Forum.

VLADIVOSTOK, September 4 - RIA Novosti. Fraudsters actively use seasonality and the news agenda when creating schemes to attack Russians, Stanislav Kuznetsov, deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“Fraudsters can actively attack one or another category of citizens based, for example, on seasonality, the news agenda (indexation of pensions, the start of the school year, and so on), theft of a database from a poorly protected organization, or simply collecting information from open sources, for example, social networks,” he said in an interview at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

Kuznetsov drew attention to the fact that statistics when describing the portrait of a victim of fraudsters are very conditional and vague; socio-demographic characteristics are not decisive.

“We see that children, and elderly people, and representatives of working professions, and scientists, and residents of rural areas, and people living in megacities are becoming victims. Anyone could be under attack and absolutely all categories of people lost money,” the deputy chairman said.
