MOSCOW, September 4 - RIA Novosti. A suspicious object, possibly an explosive device, was found near an electrical substation in the German city of Dormagen, DPA reports, citing local police.

Earlier, the German police union called for increased investment in infrastructure protection amid incidents at energy infrastructure facilities in Brandenburg and Bergheim.

“A passerby discovered a suspicious object at a substation in Dormagen,” the agency said in a statement.

According to DPA, this could be a launcher. The item is now being examined by experts to assess whether it could have damaged the substation.

There are no reports of interruptions in the operation of the energy facility.

DPA previously reported that German police discovered six launchers near a disabled electrical substation in Bergheim in western Germany. According to Spiegel magazine, the police put forward a version of deliberate damage to the object.
