Palestine Day Friendly Match Ended in a 2-2 Draw, Children Killed in Gaza were Commemorated

The friendly match played between the Palestinian National Team and TÜMOSAN Konyaspor within the scope of Palestine Day events ended in a 2-2 draw.

In the match played at MEDAŞ Konya Metropolitan Stadium, Konyaspor's goals were scored by Melih İbrahimoğlu and Mustafa Muhammed, while Palestine National Team's Muhammed Sandouqa enjoyed goals twice.

THE CHILDREN WHO DIED IN ISRAEL'S ATTACKS WERE COMMEMORED

The match was stopped for a while in the 10th minute when referee Mehmet Türkmen blew his whistle. As the stadium lights went out, a video containing the names of the children murdered in Israeli attacks since October 7 was broadcast on the screens.

Football fans watching the match applauded the players of both teams. Some fans threw plush toys onto the field.

Messages in Turkish and English were displayed on the billboards on the field side, in Turkish and English: "1029 children under the age of 1 were killed in Gaza. 4 thousand children were amputated in Gaza. 1.2 million people live in tents in Gaza. Israel is a terrorist state. Israel is a baby killer. Zionism is coming to an end. Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine. We stand with Palestine."

While the last minute was being played, the match ended with the announcement: "The match has been postponed until Palestine is free. Not only matches, but also lives, dreams and childhoods are left unfinished in Palestine. Today, we are not completing the 90 minutes here. We are ending this match at 89.59, before the 90 minutes are completed, to remind us of the lives left unfinished, the hopes silenced and the pain experienced in Palestine."

Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak and protocol members met with Palestinian football players on the field and took photos.

After the flowers were presented, some Palestinian football players could not hold back their tears due to the attention shown to them.
