Solidarity flotilla of 60 Andalusian ships leaves Ceuta after supporting the city in the face of the migratory crisis

The 60 Andalusian boats that arrived in Ceuta in solidarity with the autonomous city after the massive entry of immigrants a month ago were sent off this Sunday morning to the cheers of hundreds of residents, along with local boats that have joined this solidarity flotilla. "Ceuta is not for sale, Ceuta defends itself", "I am Spanish" or "Invaders, expulsion" were some of the slogans this Sunday, already common in the demonstrations of recent days.

They have been chanted by the neighbors who have appeared both at the marina for the departure and at the promenade for the arrival of the boats, before they have returned to their destinations, mainly Algeciras and Tarifa, in Cádiz, and the Costa del Sol, in Málaga.

Dozens of bikers from Ceuta have joined their vehicles at the reception, where there has been no shortage of flags and anthems of Spain and the Legion, in a festive and protesting atmosphere. The vehicles that passed through the promenade area accompanied them with their horns, amidst applause from the people of Ceuta. Furthermore, in the marina, many have approached the boat skippers in the morning to thank them for their presence in Ceuta for a solution to the humanitarian and security crisis that the city is experiencing.

The president of the Parque Ceuta neighborhood, Raúl Fernández, has encouraged the attendees with a megaphone on the promenade as one of them and, in statements to Efe, has indicated that "the people are the ones who save the people." Fernández has said that "Ceuta is going through very difficult times" and needs all the support of Spain, so the presence of the neighbors is a way of thanking the participants in the flotilla for "this effort."

The Government has left the people of Ceuta "abandoned" for a month, said this neighbor, who has emphasized the fight to recover normality in the autonomous city.

The route has traveled through the area of ​​San Amaro and El Desnarigado until reaching Chorrillo beach, where the boats have gathered at sea after midday, while the neighbors have waved their flags of Spain and Ceuta. The flotilla wanted to turn the sea that separates Ceuta from the Peninsula into a meeting point and convey a message of support and closeness to the citizens of the autonomous city.

Furthermore, the arrival of these vessels occurs a few days before the mobilizations in support of Ceuta scheduled for September 2, Ceuta Day, in different parts of Spain.
