Israel called the hijacking of a Flydubai plane an attempted jihadist terrorist attack. This is how the head of the country's Ministry of Defense, Israel Katz, commented on the incident, Channel 7 reports.

“The serious incident on board a FlyDubai flight was an attempted jihadist terrorist attack that was only thwarted thanks to the heroism of a number of Israeli passengers. They burst into the cockpit, neutralized the terrorist and gave control of the plane to another team of pilots,” he said.

Katz also repeated the words of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that one of the pilots had one intention - to crash the plane with passengers.
