A stabbing incident occurred in the cockpit of a flight bound for Israel. The plane crashed and then diverted to Saudi Arabia.

A bloodbath in the cockpit of a flight bound for Israel was reported. One pilot stabbed another pilot and the plane crashed. Passengers later said it was like riding a roller coaster and people were screaming. Fortunately, someone rushed into the cockpit to prevent the situation from getting worse.

According to flight tracking website FlightRadar24, flydubai flight number FZ1073 was originally scheduled to fly from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Tel Aviv, Israel. It deviated from the course while flying through Jordanian airspace, turned to Saudi Arabia, and then landed at Tabuk Airport in northwest Saudi Arabia.

Flightradar24 pointed out that the aircraft's data showed that the aircraft suddenly and rapidly descended nearly 14,000 feet (approximately 4,267 meters) in 30 seconds before the first emergency signal was issued.

Passenger Almog Italie told AFP afterwards: It was like we experienced very serious turbulence, but there was no turbulence. He described the feeling of descending thousands of feet in just a few seconds as being on a "roller coaster."

Two other women told Israeli television channel Channel 12: People started screaming. Then, the plane began to rock from side to side.

Passenger Dalia Shpigel told Haaretz that after the passengers in the front seat realized something was wrong, "three to five men rushed into the cockpit," overpowered the attackers and began treating the injured pilot.

She said: An hour before landing, we felt that the plane had lost control and started to bump up and down. The men saw the plane begin to dive and broke into the cockpit.

Spiegel said the "young men" then took over the scene and began tending to other passengers while the plane changed course and prepared to land in Saudi Arabia.

According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the armed pilot apparently tried to crash the plane with everyone on board. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the incident as "an attempted jihadist terrorist attack" that "was foiled thanks to the heroic actions of several Israeli passengers."

An Israeli official told CNN that multiple agencies, including the Israeli National Security Agency (Shin Bet), the intelligence agency Mossad, the Israeli military, and the Israeli Transportation Ministry, are involved in investigating the incident that occurred this morning.

The official said one of the main questions in the current investigation is why the flight's crew included a pilot from a country that is not a diplomatic ally of Israel.

Two Israeli officials earlier told CNN that one of the pilots was an Omani national. One of the officials revealed that the Omani national was the co-pilot and was the alleged attacker in the violent incident.
