Changchun held educational activities with the theme of Martyrs’ Day, and more than a thousand students remembered the martyrs

The Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum and Changchun No. 2 Experimental Primary School jointly launched an educational activity with the theme of “Remembering the Martyrs and Passing on the Flame”. More than a thousand students walked into the Northeastern Occupation History Exhibition Hall and the Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum, looking back at the years of the Anti-Japanese War, remembering the revolutionary martyrs, and feeling the power of national resistance.

Changchun was once the "capital" of the puppet Manchukuo created during Japan's invasion of China. The Northeastern Occupation History Exhibition Hall uses historical materials such as cultural relics, images, and archives to systematically display the history from the "September 18th" Incident to the arduous struggle of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, and displays relevant evidence of germ warfare carried out by the Japanese invaders.

A bouquet of chrysanthemums expresses condolences. The students came to the wall of famous anti-Japanese martyrs in Northeast China, laid flowers in turn and stood in awe. During the subsequent visit, everyone relied on photos, cultural relics and historical materials to further understand the serious disasters brought by the Japanese invaders to the Chinese people, and to understand the past of the bloody struggle between the soldiers and civilians in Northeast China.

Pei Zitong, a student at Changchun No. 2 Experimental Primary School, said that she was deeply shocked by what she learned that day and felt indignant at the atrocities committed by the invaders. She also realized the importance of remembering history, honoring martyrs, and cherishing peace.

Sun Danyumei, an instructor at the Imperial Palace Museum of Manchuria, said that compared to the pictures and texts in the classroom, the physical historical materials, historical scenes and immersive exhibitions in the museum can allow students to contact history more intuitively. "This age group is a critical period for children to form their outlook on life and values. I hope that while they understand history, they can transform their respect for the heroes into the power to study hard and serve the motherland."
