Flydubai passenger talks about pilot's serious injuries after attack

A Flydubai pilot nearly lost his arm during a fight with a plane hijacker. The injuries of the pilot wounded by his partner were revealed to REN TV by one of the passengers, Shota Musaev.

According to an eyewitness, the aircraft commander received deep gashes that could have left him disabled. “The wounds were very deep near the neck, near the skull, the back of the head. The hand was divided almost into two parts. The pulse was very weak,” Musaev said.

Shota Musaev, together with other passengers, provided first aid to the victim. And the attacker was neutralized by a man named Yaniv - he was the first to enter the cockpit. “People were screaming, of course, crying. We lost about 16 thousand feet (4.8 thousand meters) in half a minute. The tail of the plane itself was completely torn apart. I don’t know how we were able to sit down at all,” the eyewitness added.
