The KAPLAN APC Project, which is the continuation of the KAPLAN MT Project, is carried out in cooperation with FNSS and PT Pindad.

Font size

According to the statement made by FNSS, following the contract signed between PT Pindad and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, the first KAPLAN APC (HARIMAU APC) was produced at FNSS facilities within the scope of the KAPLAN Armored Personnel Carrier (KAPLAN APC) Development and Production Contract signed between PT Pindad and FNSS.

Preliminary acceptance tests of the vehicle were successfully carried out in Türkiye with the participation of PT Pindad. After the vehicle is shipped to Indonesia, final acceptance tests will be carried out with the end user. Production activities of the second vehicle, which will be produced at PT Pindad facilities in Indonesia, are also continuing simultaneously.

The KAPLAN APC Project, which is a continuation of the success achieved in the KAPLAN MT (HARIMAU) Project, once again demonstrated FNSS's experience and success in the fields of technology transfer and local production.

KAPLAN APC will take its place among the FNSS KAPLAN Tracked Armored Vehicle Family as an armored personnel carrier designed by FNSS to meet the battlefield requirements of the future. KAPLAN APC's design architecture is aimed to provide superior survivability on the battlefield with its advanced ballistic protection, best-in-class mine protection systems and firepower.

Fastest in its class

The vehicle has the capacity to carry a total of 13 personnel, including the gunner, driver and commander.

The vehicle, which can move at high speed on asphalt/stabilized roads or rough terrain conditions, will be able to operate in all types of terrain and climate conditions.

The vehicle will feature an open-architecture vehicle electronics infrastructure that allows easy integration of different mission equipment, such as the Combat Management System and 360-degree situational awareness cameras that provide both day and night vision for the crew.

KAPLAN APC will be equipped with modular survivability systems to offer a unique solution against the changing threats of the battlefield, and will provide protection against ballistic and mine threats on the battlefield. KAPLAN APC will be designed as the fastest vehicle in its class, as well as having a high personnel carrying capacity. KAPLAN APC can also be offered with an active protection system option against anti-tank missiles and rocket-propelled grenades, depending on user requirements.

It will handle different tasks with modular design

The vehicle will be designed with possible integration options for manned or unmanned tower systems. It will serve as a modular vehicle that can be equipped with light and medium calibers such as 30 or 35 mm, as well as 120 mm mortars and guided anti-tank turrets and weapon systems.

The modular design will allow the KAPLAN APC to be configured to perform a wide range of missions such as mechanized infantry, reconnaissance, command and control, force protection, medical evacuation, rescue, fortification, sliding bridge and direct or indirect fire support.

The fact that the vehicle will use largely common parts and subsystems with the Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle (ZAHA), KAPLAN MT and other vehicle configurations of the ZPTP tracked vehicle family, offered by FNSS to the service of the Turkish Naval Forces Marine Infantry Brigade, will be an important advantage for the KAPLAN APC.
