The devastating effects of Iran's attacks on US bases were displayed

Iran's missile and drone attacks caused great damage to US bases in the Middle East. New photos exclusively obtained by CBS News reveal the extent of destruction in buildings, vehicles and aircraft at the bases following the attacks.

The images were sent to CBS News by soldiers serving on the condition that their identities not be disclosed due to strict media restrictions in the US military. A soldier stated that the damage to the bases was not reported to the American public and said, "This is a major damage to our bases that was not reported to the American public."

Explaining the extent of the situation at the bases, the soldier said, "We stand there with our eyes closed and we get punched in the face." he said.

AIRPLANE RECEIVED HEAVY DAMAGE AT PRINCE SULTAN AIR BASE

A photo taken from Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia revealed the damage caused to aircraft by Iranian attacks. In the image, it can be seen that the rear section of the Boeing E-3 Sentry type four-engine aircraft was hit directly.

It is stated that the tail of the aircraft was completely separated from the fuselage, and the fuselage was severely damaged by burning. It is stated that the rotary radar system used in aerial intelligence collection missions is also located in the rear of the aircraft.

DESTRUCTION AT US BASES IN KUWAIT

Similar images came from Camp Buehring in Kuwait, a major hub for US ground troops, armored vehicles and some aircraft.

Photos taken from the base show that many buildings and barracks were severely damaged, and some buildings were completely destroyed. In addition to the damaged structures, concrete "T-wall" structures, which were largely unaffected by the attacks, also attract attention.

It was stated that these concrete structures, which were once used as critical fortifications against grenade and mortar attacks, did not provide sufficient protection against air attacks.

In addition to Camp Buehring, it was seen that there were buildings damaged as a result of Iranian attacks in Arifjan Camp in Kuwait. The photographs also included vehicles and caravans destroyed during the attacks.

3.7 BILLION DOLLAR LOSS IN PENTAGON REPORT

The US Department of Defense Inspector General's Office released a new report on the Iran war this week. The report identified "equipment losses" worth up to $3.7 billion, including approximately 60 aircraft.

In the first such mandatory report submitted to Congress, it was reported that US Central Command reported that US bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Jordan were the targets of Iranian attacks.

The Pentagon did not respond to CBS News' request for comment.

"THESE ARE NOT SIMPLE ATTACKS"

Speaking to CBS News, the soldier drew attention to the extent of Iranian attacks and referred to the statement made by US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth after the attack on Shuyaba Port in Kuwait, which killed six US soldiers.

"These are not 'simple attacks'," the soldier said.
