Preschool completely destroyed in nighttime fire in Landskrona

The fire service fought the fire during the night. At most, personnel from eight stations were on site.

The alarm about the fire came at two o'clock in the morning. It started for an unknown reason in the attic of the main building. That building, which according to the rescue service is approximately 60 by 25 meters in size, could not be saved.

- But we managed to prevent the fire from spreading to an extension, which was the goal, says alarm and command officer Torbjörn Boklund at the rescue service South.

No people were injured.

The police will investigate the scene

At six o'clock in the morning, the rescue service began to reduce the effort somewhat.

- But we have staff on site who are prepared should it flare up again, says Torbjörn Boklund.

The police have cordoned off the scene and will carry out a technical investigation as soon as the scene of the fire has cooled down. At present, the incident is being investigated as aggravated arson to determine how the fire started.

Children are moved to another preschool

Landskrona municipality writes on its website that Möllegården preschool has night and weekend activities, but that no one was on site when the fire broke out. Children cannot be accepted on Saturday and the activity is temporarily moved to another preschool. Concerned parents are contacted directly.
