Preliminary investigation into suspected electoral fraud is linked to a member of the Riksdag

Mohamed Abdukardir Ali was rewritten when he unexpectedly entered the Riksdag via personal votes. Two years ago, he was denied citizenship in Sweden because he had large debts and thus did not meet the requirement for an honorable way of life, according to the Migration Court. In February this year, the Swedish Migration Agency made a new assessment and he was granted citizenship.

Now the National Anti-Corruption Unit is conducting a preliminary investigation into suspected electoral fraud, which Dagens Industri was the first to report. The crime, which is labeled "improper behavior during voting", is said to have taken place in Dalarna, and the report was received on September 1.

During the early voting, the police had surveillance on a car and several people who can be linked to Mohamed Abdukardir Ali, reports Expressen. Persons entitled to vote must have been provided with pre-marked ballot papers and a shuttle between areas in Borlänge and a room for early voting in the shopping center Kupolen. The majority of those who were transported were people of Somali background.

According to Expressen's information, the police wanted to search the car to find out if there were crossed ballots in it, but were refused by the preliminary investigation manager. The investigation was then dropped due to evidentiary issues, but resumed on Monday.

- It was the first time I came into contact with that criminal suspicion during my years as a prosecutor. I forwarded that matter to the National Anti-Corruption Unit. However, I can neither answer yes nor no to whether it is the same case that you are asking about, he says.
