An after-school activity leader indicted for rape and sexual assault on children near Rennes

An after-school leader in a school near Rennes was indicted for rape and sexual assault on young children and placed under judicial supervision, the prosecution announced on Tuesday. The 21-year-old man, a leader in a school in Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné (Ille-et-Vilaine), was placed in police custody on Monday, following complaints filed by the parents of two girls aged 5 and 4, said the Rennes prosecutor, Frédéric Teillet, in a press release.

Three members of staff from the town's after-school service also reported his “inappropriate behavior” to the police last June after receiving a sexual video from him. “They also indicated that the mother of a 5-year-old girl was worried about her daughter who was afraid of the host,” added the prosecutor. The facilitator, laid off following the facts reported in June, had been employed since September 2023 at the Paul Gauguin school in Saint-Aubin-d'Aubigné and had worked with kindergarteners since September 2025.

The man, who disputes the facts, was indicted for "rape and sexual assault" on minors "by a person in authority" and placed under judicial supervision with in particular the ban on exercising a professional activity "involving habitual contact with minors" and entering into contact with the victims, according to the prosecutor's press release.
