Michael • Why is nothing reported anymore about the people's struggle to be freed from an oppressive government? After all, Iranians all over the world hoped that the regime would fall. Now you hear nothing about this anymore.

Hi Michael! We try to keep in touch with Iranians inside Iran as much as we can. It is a huge risk for them to have contact with foreign media and also to express themselves critical of the regime. This is a job from earlier this summer, for example.

The US can probably do that - for a long time, too. Probably several years. But according to observers, Iran will not accept it and therefore some believe that the conflict will escalate in the future.

Dan • When do you think the world realizes that Iran has a strategic advantage and will likely not allow traffic in the Strait of Hormuz until they get their demands through and humiliate Trump to the max. Iran has nothing to gain by giving in as far as I can see.

Hey Dan! I would probably like to say that the game around and in the Strait of Hormuz came into focus quite quickly precisely because of how it affects the rest of the world. Then one must not forget that even if the US and Iran were to claim that the Strait of Hormuz is safe - the reddies will need security guarantees before allowing the ships to pass at the rate they did before the war. And now we see that the war of words has once again taken off, which does not indicate a stable situation.

There is no indication that it might be in the works.

The fact that the US has ended up in this mess is due to its failure to reach a good agreement (Iran refuses to compromise/yield) while the US does not seem prepared to escalate the war.

Many countries in the region are already involved in the war. And there is concern that the war could escalate, as it seems impossible for the US-Iran to reach a diplomatic agreement. In the event of a new major outbreak of war, it could be worse than we have seen so far.
