Basilicata National Future at the shooting range: between training and controversy

«Training, discipline, safety»: the first Saturday of October Futuro Nazionale Basilicata has chosen to spend it on the shooting range. For a day "dedicated to the knowledge and responsible use of weapons", the meeting of the Futurist Academy is set for 9.30 am, at the "Accademia dei Cavalieri" range, in Pazzano di Tolve, a small town about twenty kilometers from Potenza where it is not excluded that there may also be protests from associations and other political movements.

In the statement released to the press by the Lucanian regional manager of Futuro Nazionale, Giulio Curatella, reference is made to «a training and sporting morning, organized in a controlled environment and under the supervision of qualified personnel, with the aim of deepening the culture of safety and responsibility in the approach to weapons». There are three points in the program: the theoretical lesson, the test session and the Futurists Trophy. The latter is marked by three other words: key, precision, concentration and team spirit.

Curatella underlines, in particular, that the meeting «will open with approximately an hour of theoretical lesson held by the range director, dedicated to the fundamental safety rules, the functioning of the short weapon and the general principles relating to its use and its correct management. The theoretical part will be followed by a practical familiarization session, carried out with the assistance of the instructors. Closing the morning will be the Futurists Trophy, a small symbolic precision competition, in strict compliance with the rules and procedures established by the range".

And in the poster posted on social media we also read that "places are limited, with reservations required" at a telephone number indicated alongside, that for "young adults under 30 participation in the shooting is free" and that "the other moments of the day are open to everyone, young and old". «We chose - explains Curatella - the name Accademia dei Futuristi because this day aims to bring together knowledge, discipline and responsibility. An opportunity for aggregation and team spirit, through an experience different from the usual, in which training and sporting activity proceed together. We don't want to trivialize a serious topic or turn it into folklore. A weapon requires awareness and respect for the rules. Before precision comes discipline. And safety comes first."

Meanwhile, Roberto Vannacci, leader of Futuro Nazionale, announced that "we are writing the 10 most important measures that we would approve in the first 100 days if we were in government". He does so by speaking at a meeting at the Biondetti bathroom in Marina di Pietrasanta (Lucca). Here, as he recalled, the first presentation of his book "World upside down" was held in 2023, which marked the beginning of his political rise, until the birth of Futuro Nazionale. A meeting with dinner to follow in which the former general spoke in the round. A few hundred people were present, including Fabrizio Corona, who explained, after launching his movement, that he had come to listen to Vannacci "because he is the strongest in the polls, and - he says - I come to listen to the strongest".
