Russia confirmed taking into account its US proposals within the G20

The United States ensured that Russia’s proposals on the draft final G20 documents were taken into account, Russia’s G20 Sherpa Denis Agafonov said on Friday.

“I can say that the American side, at least until recently, approached the performance of its chairmanship functions quite responsibly and ensured adequate consideration of our considerations, proposals for inclusion in the draft final documents and adequate discussions with all other participants,” Agafonov said at a press conference with Russian media correspondents in Washington.

According to him, this also applies to “providing visas and opportunities” for representatives of the Russian delegation.

Agafonov expressed confidence that the same approach will be taken in the future in preparation for the summit and the participation of the Russian delegation.

“As for business circles, it’s a little more complicated here, probably, because the Americans, returning on this path to the origins of the twenty, decided to somewhat cut off what had grown in the twenty during this time, and some formats suffered from this,” added the Russian Sherpa.

Agafonov recalled meetings with representatives of the business twenty as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
