Russia's return to G20 heightens tensions between US and Europe

Russia's return to participation in G20 meetings has caused a new round of aggravation in relations between the United States and Europe.

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and his American counterpart Scott Bessent discussed issues of Russian-American interaction on the financial track and within the G20.

MOSCOW, September 1 - RIA Novosti. Russia's return to participation in the Group of 20 meetings has caused a new round of aggravation in relations between the United States and Europe, writes the newspaper Politico.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Finance reported that Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov and his American counterpart Scott Bessent at a meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, discussed issues of Russian-American interaction on the financial track and within the G-20.

“The (US President Donald) Trump administration’s decision to return Russia to the meeting of the world’s leading economic figures is causing new tensions in relations with European allies,” the publication writes.
