G7 countries intend to increase sanctions pressure on Russia

The countries of the Group of Seven (G7), against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine, intend to increase sanctions pressure on Russia. TASS reports this.

A joint statement on geopolitical issues by participants at the G7 summit in France noted that the countries planned to tighten sanctions against Russia, including against its oil and gas sector.

“We undertake to increase pressure on the Russian military economy. In this context, we will tighten sanctions, including against the oil and gas sector,” the document says.

European politicians are confident that the agreement between the United States and Iran on unblocking the Strait of Hormuz creates the necessary conditions for increasing sanctions pressure on Moscow.
