Gasly wins pole in Monza, Briatore: "Revenge after the penalty in Monaco"

Gasly's pole position in Monza is revenge for the penalty that took the Frenchman away from the podium at the Monaco Grand Prix yesterday, three months after the race. Alpine's Executive Councilor Flavio Briatore, interviewed by Sky, is convinced of this: "What happened yesterday is not nice at all but it is proof that we must always react. It is a great satisfaction, it has been 16 years since this team was on pole". The last one dates back to 2009, when the then Renault qualified with Alonso.

We were competitive right from the start, I said it before Q3 in the pits: today we're taking pole. It couldn't have been done better than this, a super job with the slipstreams.
