13 dead, 15 missing in ship disaster off the coast of Kyrenia; identities determined

The body of one more person missing in the ship disaster off the coast of Kyrenia has been found. While the death toll reached 13, 15 missing people are being sought.

NAMES HAVE BEEN DETERMINED

The identification efforts of the two women's bodies found in the rubble by search and rescue teams have been completed. TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel announced that the identities of the two women were determined as Şerife Özdemir and Nazmiye Özbolat. Üstel announced that the identities were confirmed following the work carried out by the Police Department and the necessary information was provided to the families.

It was learned that the body of Şerife Özdemir from Mersin, one of the victims of the accident, will be buried in Nuru District of Silifke district. The pain experienced by the Özdemir family doubled in short periods of time. The body of Şerife Özdemir's husband, Hüseyin Özdemir, who died in the same accident, was buried 4 days ago. Şerife Özdemir will be sent off on her last journey in her hometown, following her husband. Nazmiye Özpolat's funeral will be sent to her final journey in Avsuyu District of Hatay's Antakya district.

IT LASTS 24/7

TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel stated that the work continues 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the support of the Republic of Türkiye and the participation of all relevant units. Üstel stated that all means have been mobilized to reach the missing persons and that the developments in the region are being followed closely.

3 MORE PEOPLE WERE DISMISSED

9 PEOPLE DETAINED
