IDENTITIES OF 2 WOMEN DETERMINED

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister Ünal Üstel reported that the identities of the bodies of 2 women recovered from the wreckage in the maritime accident off the coast of Kyrenia have been determined. It was stated that the bodies belong to Şerife Özdemir and Nazmiye Özbolat, and that the necessary notification has been made to their families.

THREE BUREAUCRATS DISMISSED

Following the maritime accident off the coast of Kyrenia, TRNC Ministry of Public Works and Transport Undersecretary Enver Öztürk, Ministry Director Mustafa Ambar, and Ports Department Director Emsal Emirzadeoğluları were dismissed from their duties. Murat Salel was appointed as the Ministry's Undersecretary.

MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT BAN EXTENDED

In a statement made by the Nicosia Central District Administration under the Ministry of Interior, it was reported that, with the exception of weddings held in wedding halls, the ban on all types of music broadcasting in residences, workplaces, restaurants, cafes, bars, entertainment venues, and similar places has been extended until 00:00 on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

BODY OF ELMAS DEMİR BROUGHT TO ESKİŞEHİR

The body of 58-year-old Elmas Demir, who went missing after a passenger ship capsized off the Port of Kyrenia and was pulled lifeless from the sea, was brought to her hometown of Eskişehir.
