Bodies were found 3 years after the building collapsed during Israeli attacks in Gaza

Muhammed Abu Dan, head of the Civil Defense Directorate's Martyrs' Body Recovery Project, made a written statement regarding the matter.

Stating that the search efforts in the building have been ongoing for three days, Abu Dan said that more than 60 people had taken refuge in the building at that time after fleeing Israeli attacks.

Abu Dan noted that the remains reached after approximately three years will be buried in a joint funeral ceremony to be held next week.

Pointing out that Civil Defense teams are carrying out their work with great difficulty due to a lack of equipment, Abu Dan requested support from international institutions and organizations to extract the bodies under the rubble.

Search operations continue for an estimated 1,072 bodies believed to be under the rubble of 147 buildings destroyed as a result of Israeli attacks in the northern and central parts of the Gaza Strip.

In the first phase of their work, which began at the end of November 2025, Civil Defense teams recovered approximately 333 of the 559 missing bodies trapped under the rubble.

In a statement in October 2025, the Gaza government's Media Office announced that the number of missing Palestinians since the beginning of the attacks had reached 9,500, including those whose bodies remain under the rubble and individuals whose fates are unknown.
