Hail the size of eggs hits Formosa do Oeste and weather alerts are issued for Paraná

In Formosa do Oeste, in the western region of the state, ice stones reached the size of chicken eggs. There were no records of injured people until the last update of this report.

According to the Paraná Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (Simepar), the highest volume of rain is expected for the West, North and Northwest regions.

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a red storm warning of great danger for 214 cities this Monday. The warning predicts rain of more than 60 millimeters per hour or more than 100 millimeters per day, winds above 100 km/h and hail.

At the same time, the entire state of Paraná is under orange warning for storms. The warning predicts rain of 30 to 60 millimeters per hour or up to 100 millimeters per day, winds of 60 to 100 km/h and hail.

According to Simepar, on Tuesday (22), the weather remains unstable. The risk of storms is greatest from the East to the Northwest of Paraná. Rain may also pass through Campos Gerais, Vale do Ribeira and the North.

In the other regions (West, Southwest and Center-South), it may rain lightly, according to the agency, with an expectation of improvement in the late afternoon.
