Greenpeace Report: Nvidia's Emissions Are Rapidly Increasing

In the report prepared under the leadership of the international environmental organization Greenpeace and many other non-governmental organizations, the effects of the activities of Nvidia, which is the world's largest supplier of graphics processing units (GPUs) used in the field of artificial intelligence, on nature were discussed.

The report stated that, according to the company's own data, indirect emissions, mostly released in the supply chain of chips, have increased by 725 percent since 2020, and this increase is equivalent to 9.4 million tons of carbon dioxide.

It was noted that calculations made from the company's cumulative sales show that the total emissions resulting from the use of chips sold from 2022 to the end of 2025 may have reached 21 million tons of carbon dioxide in 2025.

In the report, which examined the company's statements about its environmental impacts as well as its emission data, it was determined that the company's climatic and environmental responsibility claim was "misleading".

The report emphasized that company representatives often talk about the "benefits of artificial intelligence for the climate" at events and in the media, but these claims are not supported by evidence or contradict the findings of experts.
