Strike by EasyJet pilots in France: the movement suspended and postponed until the end of September

“The determined and united mobilization of EasyJet pilots based in France has enabled the resumption of a more serious dialogue with management,” declared the pilots’ union, SNPL, in a press release published at the end of the week.

As a result, the strike by EasyJet pilots in France, initially planned for Sunday and Monday, was suspended and postponed until the end of September.

The SNPL says it remains “vigilant” because, “at this stage, no firm commitment has yet been obtained on the main demands, particularly in terms of stability of schedules and working conditions”.

Strike notice postponed to September 24 and 25

“To give this resumption of trade a real chance of succeeding, the SNPL postpones the strike notice from September 13 and 14 to September 24 and 25, 2026,” adds the union.

The pilots denounce the “chronic instability” of their schedules. “It is common for a pilot to find himself at the end of the month with a schedule that does not have a single day identical” to what was planned at the start of the month, the union previously declared.

EasyJet experienced a strike in August led for the same reasons by its flight attendants based in France. It resulted in an agreement providing for five days per month where schedules will be intangible, and compensation in the event of a change of more than two hours.

The SNPL deplores that EasyJet refuses to grant the same conditions to pilots, while employees in the cabin and in the cockpit “operate the same planes, the same rotations and in the same operational environment. »
