Increase in fuel prices: the government promises to maintain sectoral aid

The sectors most affected by the rise in fuel prices will be able to count on government aid. This is what the Minister for Energy, Maud Bregeon, promised on Monday, stressing that the application portals for this aid remain open.

The government “[wishes] to continue sectoral aid,” declared the spokesperson, interviewed on BFMTV/RMC. “We will not give up, we will not let go of anyone. […] This aid will not be suspended,” she said, while this aid ends this Monday.

“We will have the opportunity to detail in the days to come the extent and duration of this extension. There are still a few discussions, a few meetings to be held with the sectors,” explained Maud Bregeon. “The companies most in difficulty […] will of course be able, in the coming weeks, to continue to make requests. We are not going to close the gates, we are not going to close the counters,” said the minister.

Station volume drops

The president of the service stations branch of the Mobilians network, Francis Pousse, for his part underlined Monday on RMC that since the start of the war in the Middle East, “the service stations of [his] network, which are not TotalEnergies, have seen volume drops of -20 to -40%”, according to surveys carried out among members.

Half of the service stations members of the Mobilians network are under the TotalEnergies flag, he specified. Their gasoline price is capped at 1.99 euros per liter of gasoline and 2.25 euros for diesel.
