Heilbronn Wollhaus speeder is deported after murder conviction

The so-called Heilbronn Wollhaus speeder, who was convicted of murder, will be expelled and will not be allowed to return to Germany for the next eight years. This was decided by the Baden-Württemberg Administrative Court in the last instance. In doing so, he confirmed an earlier ruling by the Stuttgart Administrative Court. This had argued that the expulsion of the young man was “essential for safeguarding the basic interests of society”.

The Turk, who was born and raised in Heilbronn, lost control of his 300 hp sports car in February 2023 in his hometown on Wollhausstrasse at a speed that was far too high. In the 40 km/h zone he crashed into the car of a 42-year-old at around 100 kilometers per hour. The man died in the rubble of his car. His wife was seriously injured and their two children were slightly injured.

A year later, the regional court sentenced the driver to a youth sentence of nine years in prison for, among other things, murder and attempted murder in three cases. It considered the murder characteristic of treachery to be fulfilled because the victim could not have expected the speeding car. The Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe then rejected the defendant's appeal as obviously unfounded.

At the hearing before the administrative court last April, the chamber was not convinced that the man no longer posed a danger. He was repeatedly noticed for serious traffic violations. In addition, he “did not come to terms with the reasons for his radical recklessness on the road, which led to the death and serious injuries of his victims.”

The man had submitted an application for permission to appeal against this decision to the Baden-Württemberg Administrative Court, which the VGH has now rejected. The plaintiff had neither serious doubts about the correctness of the judgment nor adequately presented other reasons for approval, the statement said. In addition, he did not adequately address the judge's reasons. The decision is final.

Illegal car racing has been a criminal offense since October 2017. Since then, participation can be punished with up to two years in prison. However, “racing against yourself” is also punishable. In recent years there have been repeated murder charges following speeding or illegal car racing.
