Hit after hit at the WTA Finals. We know the division into groups

The second group will consist of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and Russian Mirra Andreeva and Czech Karolina Muchova, also playing in the masters for the first time.

First time in Indian Wells

The draw took place in Indian Wells, California, where the competition with the participation of the eight best tennis players of the season will take place for the first time. The event will start on Sunday and last until November 15, and the eight best doubles pairs of 2026 will also compete in it.

I'm very excited. Every year is different and every year ends differently. Now we have outdoor performances. There are only great champions in the field, so I have a difficult challenge ahead of me, said Rybakina.

She referred to the fact that for the first time since 2023, the masters tournament will be played on open courts. Then it was Cancun in Mexico, then it moved to Riyadh for two years, and now it is the desert areas of California and a venue known for spring competitions in both the WTA and ATP series.

The event was moved from Saudi Arabia due to security concerns in the Middle East region.

Without Iga Świątek

For the first time since 2019 (the pandemic edition of 2020 was canceled), Iga Świątek will not be among the eight best tennis players of the season. In The Race ranking, which includes only this season's results, the former WTA leader took ninth place. However, the season ended earlier due to an injury. Maja Chwalińska, in turn, was classified in 13th place.
