A man was sentenced to 57 years and 20 days in prison for sexual crimes and domestic violence in Novo Cruzeiro. The sentence was released this Thursday (10).
The crimes that occurred in the family context were discovered after the teenager reported the case to the school administration. Guardianship Council and Military Police carried out the first steps.
The court confirmed repeated rape of a vulnerable person against a minor under 14 years old and another subsequent rape. Against the woman, there was rape, threat and actual acts.
Serving the sentence will begin in a closed regime and there will be payment of compensation for moral damages. The defendant will remain in prison and will not be able to appeal freely.
A man was sentenced to 57 years and 20 days in prison, in addition to other sentences, for sexual crimes against a teenager and for domestic violence against a woman, in Novo Cruzeiro, in Vale do Jequitinhonha. The sentence also convicted the defendant of concealing a motorcycle with altered identification signs.
The decision was released by the Public Ministry this Thursday (10). According to the agency, the crimes occurred within the family context and were discovered after the teenager sought help and told the school management what had happened. The case was reported to the authorities, and the Guardianship Council and the Military Police carried out the first steps.
In the sentence, the Court considered it proven that the man repeatedly raped the teenager when she was under 14 years old.
The defendant was also convicted of another rape committed later against the same victim, this time through violence or serious threat.
In relation to the woman, the Court recognized the practice of rape, a threat in the context of domestic violence and in fact.
In addition to the crimes against the victims, the man was convicted of hiding a motorcycle with altered identification signs. The vehicle was located during a police investigation.
The total sentence was set at 57 years and 20 days of imprisonment, in addition to two months of detention, one month and 15 days of simple imprisonment and payment of a fine.
The Court determined that the sentence should begin in a closed regime and also established the payment of minimum compensation for moral damages to the victims.
The man will remain in prison and will not be able to appeal the sentence while free.
