Man arrested on suspicion of stabbing co-worker in Angra dos Reis

According to the Civil Police, the injured man sought help at the Angra dos Reis police station in Parque Mambucaba, at around 2:15 am. He had four punctures on the left side of his torso and back and received treatment from the Fire Department. The updated health status was not reported.

According to police, witnesses said that the suspect had fled in a car towards Rio-Santos. Teams participating in Operation Shock Night Order were called in, and municipal surveillance cameras helped monitor the vehicle's route.

The car was located near the Bracuí neighborhood and intercepted near the operational base of the concessionaire that manages the highway. The action brought together civil police, military police from Proeis and municipal agents.

Also according to the Civil Police, in testimony, the suspect and his wife claimed that the disagreement was motivated by offensive comments that had been made by the victim about family and religious issues. According to the couple's version, the woman attacked her husband's colleague at the bus disembarkation point, before being stabbed with a knife.

The corporation reported that the victim denied having made comments or provoked the family. He reported that he was approached by his colleague under the pretext of talking and then attacked by the woman. While trying to defend herself, she was stabbed and ran to escape.

According to the Civil Police, the suspect admitted to having discarded the knife during his escape, before getting into the car with his family.

He was charged with attempted murder and sent to the prison system. The wife was charged with a criminal misdemeanor.
