Man arrested on suspicion of stalking, attacking and threatening ex-partner with simulacrum in Manaus

According to delegate Nathália Oliveira, responsible for the investigation, the two maintained a relationship for around two years and have a four-month-old daughter.

The crime occurred in the early hours of Wednesday (4), when the woman was returning home. According to police, the suspect chased her on a motorcycle, approached the victim on a public street and got out of the vehicle armed with a simulacrum.

He then attacked his ex-partner with a push, a punch to the face and a kick. "He hit the back of the victim's head with a gun butt, leaving her disoriented. Afterwards, he began to insult her in derogatory terms and threaten her with death, demanding that she get on the back of the motorcycle", reported the delegate.

According to the investigation, the man took the victim to an isolated location and demanded the phone number of her current partner. He also elbowed the woman in the face and then fled.

The suspect was arrested by the North/East Police Station Specialized in Crimes Against Women (DECCM). He is being investigated for bodily harm, threats and insults in the context of domestic violence.

After arrest, the man was taken to the police station and must undergo a custody hearing. He remains at the disposal of Justice.
