Houthis breaking claim: Saudi Arabian Apache type helicopter was shot down

Yahya Seri, the military spokesman of the Houthis, claimed in his statement that their armed forces shot down a Saudi Arabian Apache type helicopter near Najran.

Seri claimed that the helicopter was shot down with a suitable weapon while it was carrying out attack activities against Houthi positions in the border region.

There has been no statement from Saudi Arabia yet regarding the issue.

Yemen is the scene of a civil war that started after the Iran-backed Houthis took control of the capital Sanaa and some provinces in September 2014.

The Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia has been supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government since March 2015.

While the conflicts between government forces and the Houthis in Yemen have increased recently, the Iranian-backed Houthis are targeting Saudi Arabia with ballistic missiles and UAVs, claiming that they are being attacked.
