ICE has registered a Russian woman accused of air row

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) has registered Russian woman Kristina Kedysheva, who faces more than 20 years in prison on charges of air row, the Department of Homeland Security told RIA Novosti.

“ICE has filed a request regarding Russian citizen Kristina Kedysheva,” the department said.

The filing of a request by the immigration police with other law enforcement agencies or the court means that ICE is monitoring the progress of the alien's case and asking that he not be released from custody on bail, likely preparing its own enforcement actions.

According to the ministry, 37-year-old Kedysheva on September 8 attacked two people, including a crew member, who were with her on board a plane that had to be diverted from its destination airport in Newark to another state.

After violating the law, a Russian woman “will face consequences,” the department emphasized.

The State Department previously warned that citizens of other countries who committed crimes in the United States could lose their visas.

As previously reported to RIA Novosti in the District Court of Maine, Kedysheva faces more than 20 years in prison on charges of interfering with the actions of a flight crew or flight attendant and assault. Based on the results of the preliminary hearings, the prosecutor's claims were recognized as justified, and the Russian woman was left in custody.
