82-year-old man dies after car falls into stream in the Serrano neighborhood, in BH

According to the Fire Department, the driver lost control of a silver Fiat Uno and fell into the stream bed. With the impact, he was thrown out of the vehicle and found unconscious in the water. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called and confirmed the death at the scene.

According to the Military Police, the incident was recorded at 8:12 am. Firefighters were called five minutes later, at 8:17 am. The accident happened at the intersection of Rua Expedicionário Paulo de Souza and Avenida Professor Clóvis Salgado.

During the rescue, around eight soldiers had contact with the water from the stream and, according to the corporation, would be taken to the Military Hospital for medical evaluation and receiving preventive medication.

Civil Police expertise carried out the first surveys at the site. The vehicle was removed by a tow truck from Belo Horizonte City Hall and must undergo evaluation to check its conditions.
