Illuminated image of Our Lady of Nazaré falls into the Portal da Amazônia, in Belém

Belém City Hall reported, in a statement, that no one was injured. The municipality contacted the company responsible for the structure to remove the material and install a new image at the location.

The administration also informed that "it contacted the company and initiated the necessary measures. The contractor is already working on site to remove the structure and will reassemble it", he informed.

The incident occurred on the same day that millions of faithful follow the Círio de Nazaré pilgrimages. Earlier, the pilgrim image of the saint was taken in land and river processions through the capital of Pará. The Transfer, the fourth pilgrimage of the day, took place during the night.
