Fire in substation leaves Campo Alegre de Goiás and Ipameri without power

The fire happened on Friday night (28). According to Equatorial Goiás, there was the loss of a power transformer, followed by a fire in the facilities. There were no victims, and the causes of the incident are still being investigated.

According to the Fire Department, the flames started inside the unit and spread to neighboring vegetation.

The power outage lasted for hours in both cities. In Campo Alegre de Goiás, the service returned around midnight. In Ipameri, the supply was completely normalized at 5:12 am this Saturday (29).

In a note sent to g1, Equatorial Goiás reported that teams worked throughout the night on site to restore service. To guarantee supply, the distributor sent a mobile substation until a new transformer is installed.

According to the Fire Department, the teams needed to be called in person at the 23rd Independent Company barracks. This is because the power outage also left the 193 emergency line temporarily offline.

Upon arriving at the scene, the military found the fire concentrated in the center of the substation and spreading to the surrounding forest. As there was a risk of electric shock on the network, the team kept its distance from energized equipment and prioritized putting out the fire in the vegetation to protect nearby properties.

With the arrival of the dealership's technicians and the opening of the gates to the internal area, firefighters were able to enter the yard and completely extinguish the flames.

"Equatorial Goiás informs that, on Friday night (28), a serious incident was recorded at the Ipameri Substation, with the loss of a power transformer and fire at the facilities. The incident affected the power supply to Campo Alegre and Ipameri. Distributor teams worked uninterruptedly on site, while the Fire Department fought the fire, prioritizing the safety of the area.

After clearing the site, the technical teams carried out an assessment of the facilities and adopted the necessary measures to restore supply. Around midnight, power was restored in Campo Alegre and, at 5:12 am, Ipameri's power supply was 100% normal.

The company has also mobilized a Mobile Substation, which will be installed at the Ipameri Substation as a contingency measure, while teams work on installing a new transformer. The causes of the incident are being investigated.

The concessionaire reinforces that customers must register incidents through official service channels, contributing to the agility in the teams' actions."
