Three men indicted and imprisoned for planned violent action

Three men were indicted and imprisoned during the night from Friday to Saturday, “suspected of preparing a departure” towards the Islamic State organization in Africa “and/or a plan for violent action targeting the Jewish community”, we learned from the national anti-terrorism prosecution (Pnat).

The investigation, entrusted to the DGSI, began at the beginning of July around “the jihadist actions of members of a WhatsApp group entitled “the soldiers of Allah””, specified the Pnat. “The investigations carried out led to the arrest and placement in police custody” on Tuesday of the three men.

On Friday, the Pnat opened a judicial investigation for terrorist association, leading to the appointment of an investigating judge. He had requested their indictment and their placement in pre-trial detention.

According to RTL, one of the suspects was linked to Jessica Bowie, a 35-year-old woman suspected of having prepared a bomb attack on the New York State Parliament on behalf of the Islamic State (IS) group, and arrested in August in the United States.

“There is a link between one of the detainees and a woman arrested by the FBI in the USA,” confirmed a source close to the case to AFP.
