Territorial inequalities faced with soaring fuel prices in France

It is better to be a motorist in Nanterre than in Guéret. Although fuel prices are soaring everywhere in France, sometimes significant differences remain between territories.

On average, a liter of diesel costs 2.29 euros in Hauts-de-Seine, but rises to 2.46 euros in Creuse, according to the Skenta barometer which is based on government data. This difference of 17 cents does not only affect diesel engines.

For Unleaded 95-E10, for example, the price range extends from 2.05 euros, still in Hauts-de-Seine, to 2.26 euros in the Territoire de Belfort. Whatever the fuel observed, Île-de-France manages to do well. Conversely, rural areas seem to be constantly penalized.
