RIYADH — The Ministry of Interior launched on Monday the “Absher Travel for Visitors” service electronically through the Absher app for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals and other visitors arriving through all of the Kingdom’s land border crossings.
The ministry launched the service, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), the Insurance Authority, the General Directorate of Passports, and Public Security.
The service, which will become mandatory for visitors six months after its launch, facilitates and automates entry procedures for travelers and vehicles by enabling users to complete travel procedures and fulfill requirements digitally before arriving at the border crossing, including registering traveler and vehicle information and obtaining vehicle insurance.
The ministry explained that visitors can use the service by accessing ‘Absher Travel for Visitors’ in the Absher app before their trip, selecting their nationality, entering their mobile phone number and document type, and specifying the border crossing and expected travel date, before completing the traveler, vehicle, and insurance information.
The service is part of the ministry’s efforts to enhance the quality of electronic services provided to visitors to the Kingdom, improve their experience, and facilitate their arrival through land border crossings.
