The pre-order process for Apple's new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models has officially started. Data shared by analyst Jeff Pu shows that the iPhone 18 Pro pre-order demand level for the new series is more limited compared to last year's iPhone 17 Pro series.

Analyst Jeff Pu makes this assessment based on the delivery times he follows for different configurations. The performance of the new models on the first day on the market paints a picture below expectations.

Delivery Times and Demand Analysis

According to Pu's data, delivery times for the 256 GB and 512 GB capacity iPhone 18 Pro models, which are expected to be the most popular, reach 3 to 4 weeks in most of the colors. This situation reveals that the interest in the devices is at a certain intensity, but there is not as rapid extinction as last year.

The situation is more variable in the higher priced 1 TB and 2 TB models. While Silver color options are available immediately, it is necessary to wait 1-2 weeks for Black and Glacier colors.

For Burgundy colored models, delivery time takes 3-4 weeks. This data proves that the Burgundy color is preferred by consumers much more than other options.

On the other hand, it seems that the interest in the Silver color option is quite low. Although iPhone 18 Pro delivery times alone do not indicate low demand, a noticeable difference emerges when compared to last year's iPhone 17 Pro series.

iPhone 17 Pro Max reached 3-4 week delivery times on September 13, just one day after pre-orders started. Moreover, at that time, there were only six days left until September 19, the planned sales date of the phones.

Factors Affecting Sales

Pre-orders for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max started on September 12, and sales in the first countries will take place on September 18. Despite this, 3-4 week delivery times for some models are considered by Pu as a lukewarm pre-order performance.

Pu states that more limited upgrades and the increase in the iPhone 18 Pro price level may have suppressed demand. The weight of the devices is also among the factors that may affect consumers' preferences.

The foldable phone features of the iPhone Duo, Apple's first foldable iPhone model, stand out as another factor that may affect the demand for Pro models. It is considered that some users who want to try the foldable iPhone may have postponed their purchasing decisions.
