Actual battery life measurements for multiple iPhones upgraded to iOS 27.0.1 released: iPhone 15 surges, iPhone 13 shrinks

Apple recently released iOS 27.0.1, which mainly fixes a number of bugs in the iPhone 18 Pro series, including restarting for no reason after Face ID recognition failure, abnormal colors in 2x zoom photos, and screen freezes under certain operating conditions. Actual test of 6 iPhone models

YouTube channel iAppleBytes used 6 iPhones and the Geekbench battery test tool to conduct actual battery life measurements of iOS 27.0.1. The models include iPhone SE 2, iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 15 and iPhone 16. The battery health of these phones ranged from 84% to 100%. During the test, all screen brightness was set to 25%.

Actual measurement results show that after upgrading to iOS 27.0.1, compared with the previous version of iOS 27, the difference in battery life of most models is actually not large, and only falls within a small fluctuation range. Only iPhone 13 and iPhone 15 have particularly obvious changes. Among them, the battery life of iPhone 13 decreased by 1 hour and 32 minutes, while the battery life of iPhone 15 increased by 1 hour and 19 minutes.

Apple: Power consumption in the initial stage of the update is normal

Apple also reminds that after the iPhone has just completed a system update, if the power consumption becomes faster or the body heats up more easily, it is probably only a temporary phenomenon. This is because the system will still be re-creating search indexes, organizing data and files, downloading new resources, and updating apps in the background.

Therefore, if you feel that the battery life is not as good as expected in the first few days after the update, you can observe it for a while. Usually, the usage will gradually return to normal after the background program ends.
