Oil prices reaction from Iran to US official Vance

In his message shared on his social media account, Ibrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, responded to US Vice President James David Vance's statements blaming Iran for the increase in oil prices.

Citing Vance's statement that attributed the reason for the increases in fuel prices in the country to "Iran opening fire on commercial ships", Azizi said: "Tell the story from the beginning. Never forget, you are the one who started this war." he said.

US Vice President Vance said at a press conference at the White House yesterday, "The reason why fuel prices are so high is because Iranians opened fire on commercial ships." he said.

Iran had greatly restricted passage through the Strait of Hormuz in the war that started after the attacks of the USA and Israel on February 28. Passages through the Bosphorus were allowed after the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the USA on June 17. Iran restricted the Bosphorus again on July 12, after the war flared up again on July 8 due to disagreements over the implementation of the agreement with the United States.

After Iran closed Hormuz, the oil flow from the region largely stopped. This caused oil prices to increase rapidly around the world.
