Iran: Revolutionary Guards seize a US underwater drone in the Strait of Hormuz

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards said they had seized a US underwater drone in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the scene of hostilities between Tehran and Washington.

"Thanks to a coordinated and complex operation, which involved intelligence and electronic warfare services, the naval forces of the Guards Corps managed to seize a cutting-edge underwater drone belonging to the US terrorist army", read a statement released by state television.

The device, a Remus 600 model, "operated in the Strait of Hormuz for espionage purposes", added the military force, specifying that it is now "in the hands of experts responsible for recovering its data".

Already in recent days, the Guards had reported the seizure of "one of the most modern underwater drones of the US army" at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz.
